HAZEL QUALLLEBAUM BLANTON
Hazel Quattlebaum Blanton,87, of Hamlet, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at
Sandhills Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 2, 1921 in Damacus, GA, a daughter of the late Leroy S. and
Neillie Byrd Gay Quattlebaum. Mrs. Blanton was a member of the Second Baptist
Church. She was very involved with the youth of the church and was music
director for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor H. Blanton.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at
Second Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hawks and Rev. Scott Turner officiating.
Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.
Surviving, Two sons, Dwight Blanton of Rockingham and Timothy Blanton of Norfork,
VA. A daughter, Vickie Walters of Raleigh. A brother, Earl Quattlebaum of Ft.
Lauderdale, FL. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Watson-King
Funeral Home in Hamlet.
